On the 17th April Rob & Jo took Rob's parents, Alec and Margaret, to San Diego for the weekend. We first stopped at Carlsbad, where we looked at the Flower Fields - a lot more flowers were out than when Jo had taken her Mum in March.
The next stop was San Diego Old Town, where we split up and took a look at the historical events and shops of the area. We looked in the Casa de Estudillo Museum, which had a quiet and peaceful garden courtyard surrounded on three sides by the museum. We looked in our favourite shop - the "Tinsmith", who makes most excellent things from tin - from photo frames to decorative candle shades.

We then drove into San Diego city, and took a look at The Midway which was opening in June as the San Diego Aircraft Carrier Museum, and is on our list of places to see. We also looked at the United States Aircraft Carrier Memorial, which was alongside.

Next, it was off to the Cabrillo National Monument to see views of the city. Rob's dad then took the wheel, and we headed to Escondido to stay the night before journeying to the San Diego Wild Animal Park on Sunday.
